Journal Overview
IRAMA: Jurnal Seni, Desain, dan Pembelajarannya is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The journal serves as an international platform for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to publish original research articles, conceptual frameworks, and critical reviews focused on the intersection of arts, design, and education.
Focus and Scope
IRAMA aims to foster global scholarly discourse by publishing high-quality, rigorous research that significantly contributes to the advancement of arts and design education. The journal focuses specifically on, but is not limited to, the following core areas:
- Arts Education: Pedagogical innovations, curriculum development, assessment methods, and digital technology integration in music, dance, theater, and visual arts education.
- Design Education & Studies: Visual Communication Design (VCD), interior design, product design, fashion design, and their respective educational methodologies or critical analyses.
- Cultural & Artistic Studies: Critical reviews of traditional and contemporary art, aesthetics, sociology of art, and the transformation of cultural heritage into educational media.
Articles must demonstrate clear academic contributions, possess international relevance, and offer insights that extend beyond local contexts.
Peer Review Policy
Every manuscript submitted to IRAMA undergoes a rigorous and transparent evaluation process:
- Initial Screening: The Editorial Office reviews the submission for formatting, adherence to Author Guidelines, and alignment with the journal's Focus and Scope.
- Plagiarism Check: To ensure authenticity, all manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin or Similarity Check. Manuscripts with similarity index exceeding [Isi batas %, misal: 20%] will be rejected.
- Double-Blind Peer Review: Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent peer reviewers who are experts in the respective field. Neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other's identities.
- Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision (Accept, Revisions Required, or Reject). If a conflict arises between reviewers, a third reviewer may be appointed.
Publication Ethics Statement
IRAMA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, strictly adhering to the COPE Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
- Fairness & Objectivity: Editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts purely for their intellectual and academic merit without bias toward race, gender, or institutional affiliation.
- Confidentiality: The Editorial Board and staff ensure total confidentiality regarding all submitted manuscripts throughout the review process.
- Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must guarantee that their work is completely original. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation will result in immediate rejection or retraction.
- Authorship & Conflicts of Interest: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research. Any potential conflicts of interest must be explicitly disclosed upon submission.
Author Fees
To support open-access dissemination, IRAMA applies the following transparent fee structure:
- Article Submission Fee: 0 USD / 0 IDR (Free of charge).
- Article Processing Charge (APC): 0 USD / 0 IDR (fully subsidized by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia).
There are no hidden fees. Any fee waivers for authors from developing countries can be requested by contacting the editorial office.
