Before entering the formal peer-review process, all submitted manuscripts to Kanayagan: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bidang Seni will undergo a rigorous plagiarism screening to ensure originality and academic integrity.

• Maximum Similarity Index: The journal strictly accepts manuscripts with a total similarity index of less than 20%.
• Instant Rejection: If a manuscript shows an indication of plagiarism or a similarity index higher than 20%, it will be instantly rejected during the initial editorial desk review (desk rejection).

• Pre-Review Check: Every manuscript is checked using trusted plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) immediately upon submission.
• High Similarity in Single Source: Even if the overall index is below 20%, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject or request revisions if there is a high concentration of matching text (e.g., >5%) from a single source without proper attribution.
• Self-Plagiarism: Authors must also ensure that the manuscript does not contain significant parts of their own previously published work (text recycling/self-plagiarism).
• Post-Review and Revision Re-Check: After the peer-review process is completed and authors submit their revised manuscript, a second plagiarism screening will be conducted. The revised manuscript must still strictly fulfill the maximum similarity threshold of less than 20% before it can proceed to final acceptance and publication.
